The founder of Europe’s leading global intelligence platform has been shortlisted as one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs.
Ammad Ahmad, Founder & Managing Director of Atheneum, is in the running for Scale-Up Entrepreneur of the Year at the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Ammad was shortlisted into the top eight out of more than 3,000 applicants.
The awards acknowledge the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses in the United Kingdom.
Formerly a management consultant, Ammad has always immersed himself into different networks and thrown himself into new challenges. Born in Pakistan, he decided to study and work in the US before undertaking a master’s degree in Germany. By starting entirely fresh in two different countries Ammad relied on his confidence and networking skills to build up his experience and professional database.
Having identified the challenge that businesses and research consultants face in gaining access to reliable data and expert intelligence, Ammad founded Atheneum with like-minded management consultant Mathias Wengeler.
Atheneum’s highly efficient platform provides a gateway to reliable industry knowledge, sought after by renowned investment firms, leading global corporations and well-known professional service firms. The platform currently features a network of over 400,000 experts.
Since launching in 2010, Ammad has driven Atheneum’s global expansion to 10 offices across four continents, launching the UK office in 2014 – currently Atheneum’s most valuable market.
Ammad said: “It is wonderful to be recognised and to celebrate everything we have achieved as a business in the UK. A lot of long hours and intense focus was put into driving Atheneum, so to be shortlisted in the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards is incredibly rewarding. I have always been passionate about building a business with a client-centric focus at its core and we’re extremely proud of what we offer, both for our clients and for our eclectic network of experts.
“Atheneum matches businesses with experts to deliver fast, tailored insights through face-to-face workshops, expert-backed research and phone-based interactions. Since launching, we have opened access to highly experienced experts around the world to provide better data to our clients.”
The regional winners of the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 8th October 2019.
